This would be a picture of my favorite guitar. Being a lover of blues music, I attempt to play my resonator guitar with the best of them. There is nothing like a good blues song to cheer the down-hearted. If you don't believe this, read most of the songs that David wrote in the Psalms.

The Psalms are filled with great blues words and I personally believe that most of them were written in the key of E. I also wonder if occasionally he didn't bend the strings on his harp when things were really down.

For those of you who are musically gifted try reading a Psalm with a little blues music rolling around in your head. Try a little of Psalms 3:

O Lord, I have so many enemies;
So many are against me. So many are saying, "God will never rescue him." But you, O Lord, are a shield around me; You are my glory, the one who holds my head high. I cried out to the Lord, and he answered me from His holy mountain. I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the Lord was watching over me.

So I sprained my ankle on a rare fast break. I made it to the goal and laid the basketball onto the glass and then I twisted around to see if it dropped in the basket as planned. I don't remember anything else except writhing in pain. I wish I knew if I at least scored.

It is a level two to three. I am wearing an air cast. The swelling is starting to go down for which I am very thankful. Maybe I should stick to games of pig and horse but I doubt that I will. See you on the court in about three months.

The one thing I ask of the LORD, the thing I seek most, is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,delighting in the LORD's perfections and meditating in his Temple. For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock.

Then I will hold my head high, above my enemies who surround me. At his Tabernacle I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy, singing and praising the LORD with music. Listen to my pleading, O LORD. Be merciful and answer me!

My heart has heard you say, "Come and talk with me." And my heart responds, "LORD, I am coming."
Do not hide yourself from me. Do not reject your servant in anger. You have always been my helper. Don't leave me now; don't abandon me, O God of my salvation! Even if my father and mother abandon me, the LORD will hold me close.

Teach me how to live, O LORD. Lead me along the path of honesty, for my enemies are waiting for me to fall.
Do not let me fall into their hands. For they accuse me of things I've never done and breathe out violence against me. Yet I am confident that I will see the LORD's goodness while I am here in the land of the living. Wait patiently for the LORD.

Be brave and courageous.Yes, wait patiently for the LORD. Psalm 27:4-14 NLT

Have you prayed today? Have you talked to God? Has God talked to you? When did you last pray unitl your soul was satisfied? When did you last "pray through?" Here are the words of a song I grew up on:

Ere you left your room this morning, Did you think to pray? In the name of Christ our Savior, Did you sue for loving favor,As a shield today?

O how praying rests the weary! Prayer will change the night to day; So when life seems dark and dreary, Don’t forget to pray.
